Hypsometic maps typically contain 3 dimmensional information that shows relief. As a surface map,  the 3D feature usually contains contour lines, raised relief, shaping, and color.  This Hypsomotric map shows the entire United States and its annual average precipitation and categorizes density through using various colors.
