Doppler Radar

The Doppler radar is typically used to make atmospheric profiles of clouds. This type of radar uses a transmitter to emit microwave or radio radiation.  Then, an antenna is used to measure time of arrival of reflected pulses from distant objects. The Doppler radar also includes the motion of clouds as well as the composition of particles in the air such as rain. Doppler stations are located all around the world in order to view pulses of microwave radiation emanate for the location.
